An Open Letter to Living Word

Dear Living Word Family,

On January 11, I submitted my resignation from church staff. I have worked for 8+ years as a worship leader, and the last 6 months as a Communications employee. My reasons for leaving are both circumstantial and personal, but through prayer it’s become clear over the last year that God is calling me away.

Whether I’ve become friends with you or just vaguely recognized you at a restaurant, you have a special place in my heart. I will think of you often. I’ll never forget the moments we spent in the presence of the Lord together. God has his hand on Living Word in a very special way, and I’m fortunate to have witnessed him moving and leading the church onward!

You’ve watched me grow up: I came with stars in my eyes and a guitar in my hand, and I leave with a beautiful wife, two kids, and a minivan. I came because I had a deep love of music, but I leave with a deep love for people. I’ve started digital marketing firm called Pixel+Brick, and I am excited to carry over that love of people into the marketplace and represent Christ where I can. And worship—I don’t question my calling to music ministry, and I’ll be searching for what that means in this next chapter of my life.

I will miss you deeply, Living Word. God bless each of you as you continue to pursue him and the life that he has for you!

Your Brother in Christ,

Ryan Lewis
